The Independence March 2018 again? Lol. I have a lot against organizers of Independence Marches, especially the 2020 one - but vast majority of the 2018 participants were moderates and many went there exactly "to keep the radicals at bay".


Never understood the attraction among some Poles and Russians for nazi symbolism but I guess young kids have no memory of what their grandparents went through.

Neither Polish nor Russian "mainstream" nationalists use Nazi symbols or associate with historical Nazis.
They tell and retell heroic stories of fighting the historical Nazis.
Sometimes, they actually believe they're fighting Nazis' successors (painful example - obstinate calling the symbol of current Women Strike "SS lightning").

Even that article I posted in the O.P implies they are determining if it can be considered a hate crime or not(not sure it would be). But you are correct it is not illegal to be a nazi, but various nazi activity can be illegal for sure. So it probably wouldn't do much good to report a nazi unless they are doing something that is illegal.

Though maybe it should be illegal to be a nazi...

I was referring to the forest dwellers in Poland who would risk having swastikas because they are more worried about immigration than they are about tarnishing their own grandparents legacy in fighting Nazism.

I watched a Vice video on the rise of the far right in Poland and Ukraine and many of the teens joining these groups are getting swastika tattoos.
