There's certainly a history of viruses originating in China... some of the history dates from times when deliberate human genetic engineering definitely wasn't a thing.

I'm convinced we've lived through similar viruses over the decades. But no one made a fuss. They were seen as particularly bad flu years. This time around, we're destroying the economy over a virus that isn't really THAT destructive or even all that deadly. But that's crazy conspiracy talk, right? Let's get back to talk of genetically modified super viruses!

Here is a WP thread that delves into how prior generations dealt with pandemics.

I find it hard to believe that this virus came from a bat or a wet market. I believe it was man made and intentional. It more than likely came from a lab in Wuhan. Dr. Fauci gave millions of dollars to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. I believe that he had a role in funding this virus. Anybody who thinks that this virus was accidental or random are delusional. China is blocking people from investigating it's origins. People who have done research on coronavirus and claimed to have evidence of what caused it have all wound up dead. China and the elites are definitely trying to hide something. They don't want anyone to find out the truth.

There are some significant holes in the Fox / Newsweek story, though...

I think there's consensus the virus may have originated from the lab you are referring to but that it escaped due to incompetence and lack of proper sterile procedures. The stories of how the Chinese scientists were handling bats (for example) suggest these virologists had never dealt with bats before. Biggest joke was using gloves that they didn't realise was not protective against the bat's bite and not taking precautions to avoid exposure to bat blood and urine.

While I cannot provide any evidence, I feel that Covid has been manufactured because the knock-on-effects will cause chaos and disruption and will enable the few in power to control us.
There won't be any evidence online for this theory, except for unsubstantiated claims from others who feel a similar way, they will not publish their agenda.
History has a habit of repeating itself.

I have heard a theory that the coronavirus was designed to kill off older, less productive people in this over-populated world, but essentially leave the younger members of society.

The thing that you people should wonder about: How common P4 labs are in China? It is not a some small clinic lab; there’s only TWO of them in China and the Wuhan one does research on coronaviruses.

So what are the chances for the covid-19 to emerge due to a random mutation in some critter in wet market that happens to be near a P4 lab that which is known to do research on coronaviruses in bats. Like a 1/10000, 1/Million? This is ridiculous if you think about it.

There’s one possibility that may give them the benefit of doubt: There’s something special in Wuhan’s cave bats and researchers know about their danger; hence why this facility was built and research been conducted in that area in specific to study those bats in order to prevent that danger (but failed eventually)?

It seems a bit short-sighted to be circulating all these conspiracy theories about the covid virus being man-made or deliberately released as a way to attack China.

Firstly, it is extremely unlikely covid was deliberately developed as some kind of weapon.
Secondly, the similarity to natural viruses circulating in bats means it almost certainly crossed over from animals to humans.
Thirdly, the cross-over could have occurred at any location where humans and wild animals interact. The idea of the wet market as origin is certainly conceivable.
Fourthly, even if it did escape from a lab that was studying coronaviruses, I'm quite sure that the Chinese authorities will themselves be investigating this and tightening up on their lab protocols to stop it from happening again.

If people are looking to criticise China, I believe a more appropriate area would be their treatment of the Uighurs. There may be upwards of 1 million Uighurs currently incarcerated in "re-education facilities" being subjected to forced labour and constant propaganda aimed at turning them away from their ethnic practices and beliefs and quashing any resistance to the Han Chinese cultural invasion of their homeland.

Here in Australia, we would get the 'Mortein' out and fumigate. 8)

They aren't conspiracy theories, we are intellectualising.
Throwing ideas around.
Well, I am. 8)

'Evidence.'

There was a documentary which observed that the original coronavirus worked particularly well on humans to an astonishing degree.

Your opinion is just as valid and any other, imo.

Someone said this has happened 3 times before around that area.
I think there is no reason to believe it can't happen again.
Just my opinion. ;)

Do you agree that the coronavirus originated in that area?
If not, where?

There is even talk in the mainstream media, that "We ain't seen nothing yet. The next one will be a doozy and we will have wasted all our resources on this one". 8O

Back in September 2019, France 24 aired news about a virology lab in Milan who was fined after a "second" warning about not repairing a lab hood that had a leak - "second" warning! The third warning would have resulted in a shut-down of the lab. I "think" it was the CLIMBIV. There was more concern about the escape of pathogens of the airborne variety. Fear about a regional epidemic and in the worse case scenario, a pandemic. That is what exactly happened.
I tried to FORGET that broadcast asap before I lost my mind. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. The pandemic happened. It originated there in Italy not in China. Maybe someday, we will all know the truth. This causes me gut-wrenching sadness. I wanted to tell authorities about this broadcast but my husband said it was probably known if it was broadcasted on France 24. I ended up on my knees praying to God that nothing would happen but many people died all over the world. Many became sick. My own child was sick but recovered. Two acquaintances of mine have died. This weighs heavy on my heart. I wonder if authorities here would've just brushed me off. It's painful. Even now, people just wave me away and blame China. Please believe me when I tell you this. I can't find any archived news for France 24 but I'm sure they have it still.

The pandemic is not your fault.

And the fact remains that the pandemic spread from the province of Wuhan in central China. Later it spread to other far east countries, and to Europe (most of the US was infected from Europe via New York though the west coast was infected from the far east). It doesnt seem likely that the Italian lab had the same kind of viruses, if they had had them, and they had leaked the virus wouldnt have vaulted across the planet from Italy to central China, before spreading back to Italy months later. Just doesnt make sense.

I am encountering a lot of fake news in french lately. They’re more into conspiracy theories than the anglophones lol.

I don't think it was. I think if I were to design a virus to thin out political rivals or something, I'd probably go with something at least slightly more fatal. I definitely wouldn't go completely fatal, and I'd probably still have more people survive than not, but I'd make it scary enough that even most conspiracy theorists would have to accept its legitimacy. Besides, I don't think China is gaining enough from this for it to be worth their while.

Well, the US isn't the only country who can play this game:
https://apnews.com/article/pandemics-co ... d0c90f7418

That's the problem with conspiracy theories.. it's so easy to make vague "could have", "perhaps" and "who knows" claims that you can implicate just about anyone in a grand secret plot...

I'm betting it was the Uruguayans in league with the Lesotho branch of the Illuminati.

Why?

At least when for eg African Americans make up this sort of conspiracy about AIDS or drug addictions, it makes sense. There's racist politicians and some extreme racist politicians probably would like to cull the African American population - esp back in the 1980s.

But all humans? A global pandemic?

Are there aliens out to get us? Or is it an animal uprising?

Seems unlikely.
