As usual I stick to scientific data to come up with my ideas. If this law isn't applied in America to gun ownership then I am simply highlighting that the USA join other civilised countries in the 21st century and protect your citizens from gun-violence/harm.

How about no?

How about yes because Canada's sick of your (collective; American) s**t?

MOST of the gun crimes committed in Canada are done with illegal guns smuggled in from the USA.

How about get your s**t together down there and stop sending guns to gangsters in Canada that end up killing teenagers and innocent bystanders.

If Washington state can sue us over contaminated water making it's way across the border, we should be able to sue over your contaminated gun culture leeching over here and killing people.

If there wasn’t a demand ,they wouldn’t smuggle them.Stop Canadians from buying them.

The mentally ill are more likely to be a victim of violent crime than a perpetrator.

Mhmm, because the USA targets it's drug problems by jailing all of it's drug users to end demand vs. trying to stop shipments of drugs from coming into the country..

Missing the point. You can’t control anything if there is a demand. We learned that from alcohol.
Not saying it’s a good thing, just a fact.
It’s why there’s a meth problem.People want it so it flows across the border. If no one bought it then it would dry up.
So you have to arrest the smuggler AND the person on the other end bringing it in.Also address the issue on why people want these things.

My niece is retired border control. She stopped plenty of drugs from coming in.
You can’t get it all, it’s impossible.
And I’m all for drug rehab.
I’m staying a fact.If there is a demand, someone will fill it.

And why do all those Canadians want guns for anyhow?

And yet still governments enact laws to limit production and distribution of weapons.. can't exactly go buy a tomahawk missile even if you have demand for one. Somehow the USA seems to think they can manufacture items illegal in other countries and then just flood them in with not a care in the world. Canada should put sanctions on the USA, withhold power and water and lumber until they get their s**t together and stop harming our country and it's citizens.

Emulating American gangster rap culture, which is spilling over into Canada over the airwaves and poisoning impressionable minds. There's a massive drug gang war going on in BC right now that's been several years in the works - and so much of it, as cheesy as it sounds, stems from the influence of American gangster rap music video culture and little s**thead kids thinking that's "the life," and something to aspire to. Damned good job of brainwashing, too.. these aren't "inner city ghetto kids," with no opportunities.. these are kids who grow up in $M-MM homes that drive mom and dad's luxury cars.. yet they're convinced that being the next <insert gangster rapper name> or Scarface is the way to live their lives.

Then write your prime minister and suggest it.
It would hurt some western states, not mine.We are flush with water and timber.

I think that’s happening all over.Question is, how do you stop them from listening??
It’s sad, they see the “ glamorous” ( if you can call it that) side of it, nice cars, hot women or boys, money etc….but they don’t realize the dark side of it.Winding up dead, incarcerated or an addict.

This argument makes me feel physically ill. I see a lot of finger-pointing, name-calling, and blame being thrown around, and this argument/debate has ultimately gone NOWHERE but downhill.

What I don't see is anyone asking WHY subsets of the American population feel the need for guns. And if we want to bring the drug epidemic into it, why aren't we asking WHY so many people are being driven to addiction? Until we answer and address the root of these problems, we won't solve anything.

In regards to guns in America:
1) There are logical reasons for some Americans (particularly those in rural areas) to be gun owners. Many rural families have livestock and may occasionally have to protect said livestock from predators. Furthermore, many poor, rural families hunt deer and other game for meat and depend on said meat for the bulk of their food throughout the year (especially when growing season is over). I, personally, have experience with the latter. My family was quite poor, and I had many family members who would hunt to keep the freezer full for the winter-spring season.

Side note/infodump: Fortunately, there is often a benefit to local ecosystems with responsible hunting practices. Deer populations can get out of control in some areas as many large predators were long ago hunted to extinction. Introduced wild boars, additionally, are one of the most destructive creatures in the US (responsible for around $1.5 billion in damages in the US every year).

2) Many individuals in the US DO NOT feel a sense of safety or security in a country/political system so fraught with corruption and injustice. Guns, of course, are not the solution to this problem. However, I can understand how people, out of desperation, would resort to carrying firearms in order to regain some sense of power/control.

I'll save drug addiction for another time (I'm out of spoons/energy).

In summation:
The common people are not the root of either of these problems. The systems that have failed/are failing them are.

You have to get at the root of why one person wants to kill another. They can do it with a butter knife or with bare hands.
That’s the root of the problem. And it’s complex.

IHIT and the GTF would like to know. Also, elders of the ethnic community of many of the gangster players, too.. they're hard working religious people, yet many of their youth shun hard work and education in favour of glitz & guns.

I think an effective add campaign might be some billboards showing business people, farmers, tradesmen driving luxury cars and having a lifespan of ~85, while gangsters driving the same luxury cars have a lifespan of ~35 if they're lucky. Stay the straight and narrow for the extra 50 years. It's worth it!

It's a lot more effort with a butter knife or bare hands, that tends to limit people's willingness to follow through on that impulse when their methods are limited.
