Why are you confused? You're acting like there can only be one group that hates a group of people based on their gender.

Both sides exist. There is on group that hates women and think all women just lie and make up accusations and defame the guy like Amber did and the is the other side who hates men and think they are all abusers and predator and assume any guy is just lying because he is simply a man and that he is always horny and watches porn.

I don't like misandrists nor misogynists.

This trial has almost (but not quite) reached the dizzying heights of the OJ Simpson trial. While it should be possible for women to seperate Johnny Depp from their own lives, in effect this can (and probably will) shift perceptions.

The fact you compared this to OJ trial, are you implying Depp was the abuser and Heard was really the victim and she wasn't lying?

I am also shocked and appalled that the trial and the evidence that was shown has been discredited by the news media now. Makes me think they have a bias against men and women can do no wrong. Did they even watch the trial?

I personally knew of a two marriages where the wife was the abusive one in the relationship. I'm quite convinced it goes both ways. Although I will say the man is more often the abuser.

^ Know of many such. Often the man works so much he has no energy to fight much anyway.

I also know of a marriage where the man worked two jobs so the wife could finish online accounting degree, and she started making more money than him eventually, and began attacking her hardworking husband for earning less than others.

Most people would be in between.

And there is psychological abuse...

In the latter case, most abusers I personally know are women - but not all of them.

But I very much wouldn't like my family matters publicly discussed in courts. A psychologist to help get over it all was a way better choice in that case.

I find this very interesting. Humans tend to latch onto a story (he's guilty / she's guilty) and then hammer away at insisting it is true. The truth of what transpired between them.is no doubt murky.

I find it really interesting how few people can spot a true narcissist. Having been through the wringer with one, I have deep personal experience of what a woman like that can be like. But then many people couldn't see the problems with Trump either.
The thing is, you can never believe anything such a person says because it will always only have the goal of being self serving. Even when it appears otherwise. Their entire existence depends on maintaining their story that they are never at fault and everything wrong is always because of someone else.

Also very interesting how people like to build up their heros so they can cut them down when they are proven to be human. An example of fashionable beliefs I suppose.

Surviving abuse while managing not to become an abuser is a very difficult line to walk.

I think we are a very long way from even beginning to have a balanced discussion about the problems between men and women.

I thought the videos Jono posted were pretty damning, and Heard's defense on this point was pretty inept.

I can say from my own experience with photography and image manipulation that the witness was entirely accurate, and that it doesn't take much expertise to uncover what he did. It's pretty basic stuff, and her defense tried to attack it on a fanciful "lack of formal education" angle.

I get that's what they're supposed to do, demolish statements against their client - but c'mon now, this was desperate, juvenile stuff.

Oh no. I am saying that this reminds me of the OJ trial from the perspective that every female I know is following the proceedings. The only other trial I remember where every female took an interest was the OJ trial. Before that possibly the Wayne Bobbitt trial (although the latter is pre-internet).

It didn’t interest me because it’s more of a he said/she said situation.

I think Johnny Depp is an arrogant ass, so I wouldn’t put much past him.

I like his movies, especially his older ones, though.

The two I knew of had physical abuse inflicted on the men because they wouldn't hit back.

Johnny Depp only aired it because he wanted to badly clear his name. I would have done the same too if my name was smeared and ruined. I would use all the proof I have and show it to clear my name. Then hopefully those who still believe the lie won't affect me because it won't have power.

This is why you should always save emails and texts and messages, even if you are getting harassed.

In the past, people online seemed upset or confused when I told them I happen to save our message chats when I said I was looking through it for something to refresh my memory. I mean I you have no agenda, won't ever gaslight and abuse your online friends and have nothing to hide, this wouldn't bother you. I do this because I have been in situations where anyone would deny they ever said thus to me or that. So I think it helps to go back and look and show it to them to refresh their memory. One day it did become useful because someone online was gaslighting me so after I blocked him, I looked through our past chats and saw nothing he claimed I said to him. Thus is why you should save IM conversations as well. It makes it harder to be gaslighted. Did I have to ever show these messages to the public, no. Why? Because this was never made public and I wasn't being smeared so I didn't have to post any proof. We didn't visit the same forums so whatever he tells his online friends wouldn't affect me. I knew they would eventually block him too and realize he is full of it because he was controlling and manipulative and I think he had BPD as well because he was very clingy and I have read on the condition and he displayed characteristics of it. He was also misogynist.
