Hrm, well obviously a gun gives you an advantage -.- This is actually the biggest thing with humans, since we have technologies, we don't need to develop physical traits that could determine who's strongest (like most other animals do). What i am against though, is how excessive the harm a gun can bring towards somehow who would fight unarmed.

? I'm not getting the syntax here... could you restate that please?

(Heh, don't you often see in movies that the guy shooting the hero in the back is a coward?).

Quite so. So don't shoot people in the back.

I'd also note that huh... The farther you are from someone, the less empathy you feel, the harder it is for you to strike her/him down. I doubt the people that dropped the nuclear bomb or launch missiles get to see the face of those they've killed, which makes it easier for them to strike without any back feeling.

This is true with firearms only inasmuch as in the case of someone wanting to use a firearm to CAUSE harm/Kill someone... usually agressively/illegally (drive-by gang shootings, psychopaths in tall towers, etc).

Try stabbing or hitting someone at close range, it's not as easy as one might think.

I had to learn Aikido after dislocating a guy's arm, and nearly breaking his spine, when he pulled a knife on me in a place I was not "allowed" to carry a firearm. I would have much rather not had to do that... though in that circumstance I probably would not have had time to draw anyway and still would have ended up crippling him.

Too many years training in the "Hard" arts I suppose.

I was rather gratified to find a good Aikido Dojo but even still, when a later guy came at me with a tyre spanner (I never did find out why) my pointing a large gun at him was definately easier on both of us. He put town the spanner and we both went our seperate ways.

Alright, about what you wanted me to rewrite. At best, a punch will only break a few bones and cause hemorrage (depending where it lands),but a bullet is lethal wherever you shoot it, and the person takes much longer to recover from his wound than if he had been punched, would you agree to that?

I'm not even going to pretend to sugar-coat my response.
I'm sure someone like yourself would love to see the end of an armed American citizenry since you're probably one of the reasons many of us are armed.
Terrorists tend to prefer helpless sheep to prey upon.
As far as I'm concerned anyone from your part of the world is a terrorist until proven otherwise.

When did we start getting such high profile members as dead terrorists (apparently living on mountains)?

And Raptor....way to go generalizing -.- not everyone in middle east is a terrorist >< In fact, most people in Middle East are perfectly balanced, the only ones causing problems are the religious fundamentalists, and even the western world has them. -.- Both cause enough problems right now <.< I don't think we need to go and judge someone outright because he's from that area of the world. If anything, containing them within that image that most of them are terrorists will likely make them hate you more =/ .

i would weep tears of unbridled joy the day america is freed from the curse of rampant gun ownership. not because its citizenry would be unarmed, but because tens of thousands of innocent lives would be saved. face it, the absolute majority of victims of school or workplace massacres, kids accidentally shooting each other playing with their parents guns, civilians being caught in the crossfire of gang warfare, and "regular" homicides would never have happened if guns weren't so readily available.

The first sensible thing you have said thus far. This, by the way, is exactly the situation as it obtains everywhere firearms are banned.

first off i know of no country where guns are banned, but most countries have much stricter gun regulation than the US. and these countries have not only a much lower rate of firearms related death, but also a significantly smaller black market trade in guns. and dont bring up the f*****g khyber pass, you cant compare the US to a third world failed state
