You could consider taking your kids to the vet, err.

I figure this is a big deal because it is new and nobody knows how it is going to play out for sure yet.

My relative just brought me 21 pounds of dried lentils and split peas,10 pounds of rice, and a ton of disposable plastic gloves.

My wife's relatives have laughed when they've seen my pantry, with all the Mason jars full of dried legumes and pasta, all the canned vegetables and meats, and all of the pre-packaged dried fruit.

When it comes to meals, I think all they know how to make is reservations.

I have a half faced respirator with P100 filters which will filter out small Coronaviruses these filters last for a long while
A half face respirator with 2 filters can be had for around $60. Most people don't realize P100 is a good as N100

Last week I purchased a small air purifier on Amazon.



So today, I rated the device giving it five stars.

I titled the rating as COVID19 Coronavirus and wrote:

I purchased this device as one of the defenses against the coronavirus. IMHO the problem is that in low humidity environments many pathogens (such as the coronavirus and also the viruses responsible for the common cold) will dry out and free float in the air. In desiccated form, these viruses can remain lethal as they are rehydrated. They free float in the air seeking a host victim to infect. Generally they hit gold when they arrive at the moist area of the throat. Far ultraviolet light (UVC) is scientifically known to damage and destroy various pathogens including viruses, bacteria, protozoa, fungi, yeasts, and algae. As a result UVC light can reduce the viral load in the air. There are several air filters on the market. A few of these incorporate UVC.

I chose this particular one (a room size unit) because it was pretty bare bones. It is a small little unit. I put a Coca-Cola glass next to it for size comparison. The unit includes an electrostatic collecting, ozone filter and activated carbon filter, powerful UV lamp and a negative ionizer. It uses very little electricity to operate - 600 milliamps. That is a good point because you can plug it into your desk at work, you do not worry about blowing a circuit breaker. The fan is whisper quiet. It has a built in night light. I turned it off after the first night because it seemed to affect my sleeping. I noticed that my breathing was a little better when I slept. I suspect that the unit reduced some of the smoke particles from the wood stove I use to heat my house.

This week I purchase two more. One for each of my daughters and their families. They should arrive today.

Generally the government normally steps in and captures the inheritance as taxes or debts owed in probate court.

What brand is it, jimmy? I don't see one similar on Amazon (even .com)

New York is battling the coronavirus – and price gouging – with a germ-killing hand sanitizer produced by maximum-security prison inmates

He said the inmate-produced “NYS Clean Hand Sanitizer” will be available to New York residents free of charge as well as to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which operates New York's subways and commuter railroads, to other state agencies and to New Rochelle, the Westchester County city that's been the epicenter of the state's coronavirus outbreak.

The New York Post quoted Cuomo saying that “it’s much cheaper for us to make it ourselves than to buy it on the open market.” He said a gallon jug of the state-produced product costs $6 to make.

Probably the key words to search for are:

"air purifier" and

"UVC" or "UV-C" or "UVGI" which is abbreviation for ultraviolet germicidal irradiation

And make sure the product description includes a UV-C sterilizers.

Pepe, I am not sure those methods are safe or effective.

Some home made options are downright dangerous.

Dozens of people in Iran died after drinking industrial-strength alcohol amid rumors it would prevent them from contracting the coronavirus, according to reports Tuesday.

The state-run Islamic Republic News Agency, or IRNA, reported Tuesday that 44 people had died from alcohol poisoning in the country after they "drank bootleg alcohol over rumors that it would be effective in treating coronavirus.” But the semi-independent Mehr News Agency reported a lower figure – at least 27 people dying in Iran from alcohol poisoning amid the coronavirus scare.

Drinking, selling or buying alcohol has been outlawed in Iran for all citizens, except for some non-Muslim minorities, since the establishment of the Islamic Republic government in 1979.

People reportedly were drinking bootleg alcohol made from methanol, which is found in antifreeze, solvent and fuel, in a failed attempt to prevent infection. That kind is far more toxic than ethanol, the kind of alcohol safe to drink.

More than two hundred people were hospitalized in the southwestern province of Khuzestan after drinking bootleg alcohol, Ali Ehsanpour, a spokesman for Ahwaz University of Medical Sciences, told Mehr News Agency, according to ABC News.

Most of the deaths from alcohol poisoning occurred in this region, IRNA reported, according to CBS News. Meanwhile, 18 people died after becoming ill with the actual COVID-19 virus in the same Khuzestan province. Additional alcohol poisoning deaths were recorded in the northern region of Alborz and in the western region of Kermanshah.

So I know that one of the folk cures for influenza (especially at the stage where the throat is raw) is to drink a hot toddy.

A hot toddy, also known as hot whiskey in Ireland, is typically a mixed drink made of liquor and water with honey, herbs and spices, and served hot. Hot toddy recipes vary and are traditionally drunk before retiring for the night, in wet or cold weather or to relieve the symptoms of the cold and flu

You must use the right type of alcohol, such as whiskey, to make a hot toddy; not methanol.
