Mr. Hanks and his wife have publicly announced that they have it.
I SO admire them for this.
Many celebrity couples deny anything that is not positive for their image.
This is so brave, warning us it can infect anyone.

I'm trying to understand the scope of Trump's ban. Are Americans banned from going to Europe too (and presumably returning)?

It says European nationals can't enter America.

Does anyone have a good article outlining these specifics?

What I want to know is:
Do we or don’t we have a reliable test for Covid19?
How available are these tests if they exist?
If we are willing to pay for testing, can we walk in to our doctor’s office and get tested?
Anyone know?

He has banned folks who are traveling from continental Europe and are not American citizens from entering the US. The UK is exempt.

He hasn’t done the reverse.

I find this to be draconian.

Hey guy and girls I just wanted to let you know that the people who have been making their rounds on the news saying masks don't work well it is a lie because of the shortage of PPE so they are trying to discourage people from buying PPE.
Here is a link from the CDC that show the risk assessment is low when wear a mask and gloves vs not wearing a mask at all the CDC will tell the HCP the truth not the people take everything the CDC says to the people with a grain of salt

I'm not surprised. He appears to have "misspoke" at least twice and to have said many things contradicting the chief medical advisor Faulci etc.

Ref the travel ban for instance; I checked again because realised that his phrasing was so very ambiguous, and it seems that it doesn't just apply to all EU nationals but any "foreign nationals" coming from any EU country. But does not apply to permanent US residents or nationals.

Basically a lot of people think the travel ban is too little too late, as virus already widely present in USA, and that more testing would be much more useful.

I think that they're mostly just repeating what the World Health Organisation has been saying about travel bans, which is that they generally don't help much. Social distancing measures within countries, combined with massive widespread testing and contact tracing, are much more effective.

Yes it is too little to late but not unexpected business before people is nothing new and will likely never change they always look to How something effects a business before they look how it is going to effect the people

A prime example is the City of Houston Texas there are 13 confirmed cases in area and it is rodeo season typically over the 20 day period there are 2 million visitors to the Rodeo because business / money is more important than people they let the rodeo run for several days knowing the virus was in Houston till they found out one of the infected visited the rodeo then they decide to close the rodeo for the rest of the season but who knows how many people he infected before they did the right thing most likely They did the right thing because they didn't want to get used.
