At least a few football teams linked arms in solidarity. They did not kneel.

Most people, I find, want to address the issues--but don't want to disrespect the National Anthem.

Only one baseball player kneeled.

As I said earlier, I can agree it's not appropriate (but not for racism) for the president to tell a private organization how to handle their employees or members. People have already began complaining to sponsors and have a petition up to pull DoD advertisement. Hopefully that will pressure the league and team owners to deal with their players.

Some non-Americans can't seem to make-up their minds----if the U.S. gets involved, they say we shouldn't've; if we DON'T get involved, they say we SHOULD'VE.

^^^^ people [one social group] think they can force others [another social group] to conform to them, when in reality their [first group] violent response will only make the other group more determined to refuse to conform. if they really wanted to disrespect the patriotic flag salute thing, they'd collectively turn their backs during it.

It's disrespectful to those who served or those who believe in our country. A good portion of their fan base served in the military and are deeply offended. Don't piss off your customer base, this will bite them in the ass in the long run.

What's more important standing for the flag or upholding the ideals the nation is founded upon, because that's basically what the argument is here. There's the flag and then there's the principles of the nation, if given a choice I'll go with the principle of free speech over bowing for a piece of fabric any day. Speech and protest in this country predate the country and thus the flag itself, it's the spark plug that started the Revolutionary War and is as American as one can get, and it's precisely what so many soldiers gave their lives for, not an inanimate object.

Where have I denied this in Australia?
