Truth about Charlottesville
No, not all Republicans by any stretch of the imagination are Nazis, but a segment of them do support the racist right in order to counter balance the left's civil rights fight.
So I will now ask if you mean the whole right when you write, "I wouldn't be equating the two together if the right didn't throw hand-in-glove support behind the Nazis and white supremacists, all the while denying that they were at all any sort of threat"
And then you will say something like "well no only those who do".
I think Neo-nazis aligning themselves to the right is pretty much like "boy lover" pedophiles aligning themselves to LGBT.
You object (rightfully so) to gay men being associated with pedophiles, but then you constantly associate the right with neo-nazis. And I think you do it for the same reason, to paint them in the worst light possible.
You want to have your cake and eat it too by doing so and then denying that is what you are doing. Quite frankly you come off as a bit slippery along those lines.
Sorry, I'm enough to admit to a mistake. I was actually referring to the right's political establishment, which does support those things. My only excuse is that I was up late without much sleep the previous night (I'm an insomniac, as are many on the spectrum).
Bill I have been reading your posts for a long time. You implicate the right as nazis all the time and then take it back one way or another. We have been through this routine umpteen times for years now.
As I recall, you implicate all liberals, and as you never correct any misunderstandings, you seem to think the left is made up entirely of reprobates.
I never called the left reprobates whereas you call the right nazis all the time.
But you've ascribed the habits and morals of reprobates to the left.
Nothing I have said about the left comes anywhere close to being as bad as calling the right nazis.
I think they are pushing for an Orwellian type society and government. I think they use unsavory tactics like branding those who oppose them as nazis. I think they end up inflaming racism while trying to combat it. They literally portray themselves as being like Jesus Christ. But I think that has to do with them being misguided as opposed to being reprobates.
Remember also Ezra we are dealing with people who have pushed the Russiagate hoax for 3 years and since it's fallen apart they still push it, because the intelligence agencies and their parrots in the media still push it. And yes, the media also likes to smear people who are a threat to the establishment. They are trying to erase history like in Animal Farm, so you are spot on.

The real left never used to be like this. They've been hijacked by liberals. Liberals are pro war and hate other countries.

And yet you and Powell are defending a man with hateful and vile ideals who murdered a brave hearted woman. If my perceptions are so wrong, maybe the first thing to do to dissuade me from such thoughts is for you to stop defending such positions.

No I have not been defending whats his name. I have barely said anything about him. I have said there are those who have been opportunistic and exploited the situation to politicize it.
I mean look at your commentary here. We have been defending the jerk, while you have been crying your eyes out. But it just comes off as crocodile tears. If Heather Heyer had been murdered under different circumstances you would not have given her a second thought. Enough with the holier than thou phoney waterworks.

Here here. It's all political theatre and about Trump.

Maybe it is mainly hardcore liberals posting to the internet then.
It is. I follow the BBC, it's loaded with Liberals who defend certain aspects such as universal healthcare. When confronted with the fact that while they may have universal coverage, if they die while waiting to be seen, it's as good as having no healthcare, they scream 'evil Americans!'
Liberals believe that if they have the illusion of having something, they have it. Who cares if it only works in theory. As long as they are holding a universal healthcare card, that means something.
I'm not trying to hijack the thread and turn it into universal healthcare, that was just the only thing I could think of, off hand. I've had many arguments through the years on the BBC, the only impression it left on me is that some people have a need to be blind to the reality of a situation.
I said it before, I have three mixed grandchildren. All over our little town I run into women like myself, loving and looking after children of all races. I'd consider myself a voter who is living my truth. I am conservative, many of them are conservative. No where in my book of conservatism does race factor in! But, we aren't in the spot light, mowing down innocent people. So, I guess we don't count (it would hurt the overall image of conservatives as Nazis, if we did). For every nut bag who makes the news, there's hundreds of thousand of good people living quite lives and fighting for equality in our tiny homes.

Blah blah blah!! !
Liberals: "Conservatives are big stupid racist meanies waaaah!! !"
Conservatives: "No liberals are big stupid racist meanies waaaah!! !"
Like I said before I wish they would both destroy each other.

It's not crocodile tears, but otherwise you're right - - had Heather Heyer been killed any other way she wouldn't be remembered. She's remembered because she died fighting against hate and intolerance, and that's why we honestly mourn her. The fact that you ignore this fact shows your argument to be disingenuous and meant to be anti-liberal, as it's obvious.

I am so tempted to respond to your post, but as you said, it would derail the thread.
I am overjoyed that racial intermixture is becoming more common in the south, as the inbreeding among southern whites has always been a problem.
