Owning slaves was actually not the worst thing about Jefferson.

The way he treated the people he felt he owned might be though.

I'm more focusing on his contributions to the more specialized 'industrial slavery' of the 1800s, he literally wrote the book on the topic. So much for being the unenthusiastic slave-owner, closet-abolitionist he was portrayed as; he was just as bad as the rest of them and probably worse than many.

His treason is almost trivial by comparison, although I'll gladly eviscerate him for that as well once I get my time machine working. Anyone got a spare flux capacitor they can sell me?

He was a Christian deist because he saw Christianity as the highest expression of natural religion and Jesus as an incomparably great moral teacher. Oh the hypocrisy is strong in this one

One exception to "The Rule" is the Jews.

Members of the Jewish faith don’t buy clothing (or other goods) made in overseas sweatshops like everyone else?

The Hebrew bible and the Talmud have slavery laws so I highly doubt that ancient Hebrews/Israelites didn't have any slaves.

*cough*

...transatlantic slave trade

While the extent of their involvement is disputed (there was a kerfuffle a while back when prominent folks from the Nation of Islam claimed it was an almost entirely Jewish enterprise) - that some Jews were trading and owning slaves is not disputed.
