Actor Alec Baldwin shoots 2 people, killing one of them.
So Baldwin is a proponent of gun regulation which are not yet law in the US
So my point was that he was an opponent current US gun laws as supported by the NRA
I get what your saying, but...
If thats what you meant to say then that is a klutzy way of saying it.
What the NRA supports is not any 'current laws', but the current LACK of laws. Thats the nub of the whole issue. So thats why what you said doesnt make sense.
There are existing American laws about guns, that the NRA is ok with, AND that gun control advocates are also ok with (they control guns, but not too much for the NRA, but not enough for gun control advocates- so neither side has an interest in repealing the existing laws - neither side of the gun debate are "opponents" of existing laws).

I don't recall the democrats politicising guns when Dick Cheney shot Harry Whittington.
Jesus, get back to me when you develop your reading comprehension to the point where you can actually follow the conversation, no one is politicizing this particular shooting, we're making fun of Alec Baldwin for being an anti gun moron who killed someone with a gun; politicizing is what people like you do when there's a mass shooting, calling for new laws before anyone even knows the circumstances. I honestly don't know why I waste my time and energy, maybe just reflex at this point.
An accidental shooting that, by all that we know so far, wasn't Baldwin's fault.
If the scene he was rehearsing was a group of people playing "Russian Roulette", do you think that he would he have taken another person's word that it was unloaded, or checked for himself?
If not, why do you think that he should not treat a weapon in the same way for any other rehearsal?
I get the impression that you are trying to shift blame to Baldwin before any of us know the whole story.

Not shifting blame onto him - merely pointing out details that are convenniently ignored by those working to shift blame from him\absolve him of any responsibility for his own personal actions (or lack thereof).
I'm looking at the legal issues\requirements\precedents (based on the New Mexico statutes), not what "feels" right, or "what I want to be true". As I noted earlier in the thread regarding precedence based on a related trial:
That case law is a decision out of the New Mexico Supreme Court itself, State v. Gilliam, 288 P.2d 675 (NM Sup. Ct. 1955). For any of you who may be concerned that Gilliam, a decision handed down in 1955, is “out of date,” be not afraid—case law is perfectly valid law until there is a Constitutional, statutory, or later court decision that modifies or reverses the applied legal standard. Valid case law does not simply “expire”—and I used my office’s professional legal database resource, Lexis, to ensure that Gilliam remains good law in New Mexico.
The decision was an appeal of a criminal conviction at a jury trial, in which the defendant had been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter by the act of unsafely handling a gun with the result that it discharged and killed the victim.
The NM Supreme Court ruled in that decision, in relevant part that:
So, it doesn’t matter who loaded the gun—meaning, all this talk about whether the live round in the gun came from this source or that source or some other source is largely irrelevant for purposes of determining whether Baldwin’s shooting of Ms. Hutchins was involuntary manslaughter under New Mexico law.
The important portion (as relates to Mr Baldwin), as determined by the New Mexico Supreme Court is:
Did he have a loaded firearm in his hand (as noted by that court, it makes no difference who loaded it)?
Did he exercise "due caution and circumspection" when handling it?
It is the answers to those questions which determine whether he was legally responsible.
You are making fun of an a situation where Baldwin accidentally discharged a loaded weapon without knowing it was loaded resulting the death of an innocent person. I fail to see how that's funny.
I also fail to see how the intention of members of the republican party and the intention of prominent right wing podcasters in "making fun of Baldwin" is not motivated by politics.
Not my words, but many on social media (including the Hutchin family) consider this form of opportunism grotesque and deplorable.
No, just not willing to spend the time only to have you ignore it. You're a lost cause, as is most of this place, it's just taken me a long time to accept it.

You fail to see a lot of things, your lack of vision is hardly dispositive.
See above.
Just like people like me find the waving of the bloody shirt every time there's a mass shooting before the facts are known to be manipulative and vulture like, but then you're the guy waving the shirt, so of course you'd think otherwise.

Again... got nothing to come up with.

Bill, you've never claimed to be a smart man, but for once in your life act like one and let this go. I never make a claim I can't back up, I just don't see much value in humiliating you at the moment, but you are going to change my mind talking sh*t to my back as I'm trying to walk away.

Never claimed to be a smart man???
Hypothetically if I'm not, at least I've got a sense of humor. Lighten up!

Looks like I got this one right:

This is looking worse and worse, live ammo should have been nowhere near that set of they had firearms capable of firing it there.

I will throw Alec Baldwin one bone here, in that the gun involved was a Single Action Army, which has a different manual of arms than a modern revolver, and is a bit more involved as far as checking the chambers than many other firearms. With a modern double action revolver, you can simply press on a catch and swing out the cylinder to look at the chambers and see what is loaded in them, where as with the older guns, you have to open a port called a loading gate, pull the hammer partially back into the half cock position, and manually rotate the cylinder while looking into the loading gate to eyeball each chamber individually, which is time consuming and tedious, as is the actual loading and unloading.
Here's a video that shows the loading process, as well as what a home made dummy round looks like, as you can see the missing primers in the cartridges being used for the demonstration:

They had been target shooting earlier in the day.I think I posted the link earlier.
The shirt is obviously tacky and in bad taste. On the plus side it will help identify people as a$$holes who are wearing it.Shame to profit off people’s misery no matter who is to blame.
