Quote:
Officials in Pennsylvania have revoked a woman's concealed-weapons permit because other parents complained that she was carrying her loaded handgun at her daughter's soccer games. Meleanie Hain said she's fighting the revocation by the Lebanon County sheriff.

Hain lost the permit and got a warning from local soccer officials after a game on Sept. 11.

Sheriff Michael DeLeo says openly carrying a weapon to a youth soccer match shows a lack of judgment.

Hain tells the Lebanon Daily News she's always openly carried a firearm without any problems in the past.

And her lawyer — Robert Magee — says that while Pennsylvania requires a permit for a concealed firearm, it doesn't require a license to carry one openly except in Philadelphia.

Thats kind of scary to think she has that around children, If I was a parent i'd be worried for my child's safety.

WTF? If she was open carrying, which it sounds like she was, what does that have to do with her CPL? If she didn't have a CPL to revoke, what would they have done, since she broke no laws? Personally, I carry everywhere, since you never know when you may need a gun, but I do so concealed just because of incidents like this. People that are not familiar with firearms often are needlessly afraid of them, and that leads to misunderstandings like this one.

Needlessly afraid? Yeah, 'cause firearms are harmless.

This seems to be more a soccer league problem than anything else - all they'd have to do was put up a sign "No firearms allowed in park" and the problem would have been solved without incident.

What kind of maniac brings a gun to a kid's soccer practise? Just waiting to put two in the head referee, was she? Or maybe shoot another soccer mom for badmouthing her kid?

Dear God.

Do they need to put a sign like that, or would people just come to a CHILDRENS' GAME unarmed and with no hidden weapons anywhere?

If I had left an abusive husband and moved to a new town, and had reason to fear for my children's safety, you can bet I'd be bringing a loaded gun to their games

I see. So you would much rather have your child kidnapped, raped and tortured than doing something to protect them when they are danger from someone you know will be targeting them

Sorry but I care about any kids I might have, and so yes I'd protect them if I had good reason to.

I feel quite sorry for you, that you'd much rather expose your children to needless life-threatening danger than to a single dam thing to prevent it when you know there is a decent chance for it to happen. But more importantly, I feel sorry for your children who would end up tortured or killed because you didn't care about them

Something bothering you Slowmutant? Why are you so against children being protected from abuse unless you of course have plans to abuse children and don't want anything standing in your way?

Firearms kill people. Often times in the names of saving dozens or even hundreds of lives that would be lost had that gun not shot the criminal

If that mom had been at this game, no innocent child may have gotten hurt as she could have shot the gunman before his bullets hit someone: http://www.kptm.com/Global/story.asp?S=8224929

What gunman? Why is there suddenly a guman under every rock and behind every bush?

You people are sick.

What gunman? Are you saying you think Taylor is lying about being shot in the face while playing soccer?

How do you propose the kid pulled that one off. Stuck a firecracker in his mouth, did he?

And all those spent bullet casings found near the school, were just dropped there accidentally by hunters who pick up after themselves and then have their bullets fall out in town.

Could you get any more stupid?
