How could you be that bored??? All you had to say was, "because His ancestor David rode into Jerusalem (I assume that was the actual question) on a donkey, and it was prophesied that the Messiah would ride in on a donkey."
If the question was to do with Jesus on a donkey on the way to Bethlehem... that was before He was actually born. And the answer would be that the Messiah had to be born in Bethlehem, as prophesied by Michah... and that riding in on a donkey connotated humility, rather than vainglorious pride and triumph.
Either you had the WORST EVER religious education teacher (and I doubt that, because I had him) or you weren't even trying.
Sheesh...
(Mind you... I didn't just fail my exams, I got expelled from Catholic school. So who am I to grumble!)
