It's all in the filtration. Goldfish produce way more nasties than other aquarium fish. Normally you buy a filter based on the size of the tank. Fine for other fish, completely inadequate if you are keeping goldfish. You wouldn't live long if you were swimming in your own poop all day, everyday.
