if this stig is revealed, top gear can easily find someone else.....but......would be a pity to reveal who it is. unknown racing driver was such a good idea.

It was probably the "Rubens Barrichello" (SP) thing

Oh come on, that's stupid. Censorship for the sake of preserving a Top Gear gag?

Or extend the gag so that everyone thinks that its this one chap, then every so often pull a switch and have it being someone else. Can't be sure who its going to be!

That would suck if Stiggy got unmasked. It's part of the fun of the show to have him depicted as some non-human being who does nothing but race... I would think aspies could relate to the Stig's odd, robotic existence. Giving him a human identity would certainly ruin that.

But yeah, they probably could get another Stig successor.

... The Red Stig? Blue Stig?...

The Gold Stig!...

Although it'd be weird to associate a new color with a new Stig.

I wouldn't want his identity revealed, but at the same time I don't know if I feel it appropriate for the BBC to try to censor someone else over this. I would hope the publisher/author would want to preserve discretion with this issue since he's such a popular figure and revealing his identity would certainly destroy the character.

Reading into this a bit more... I feel a bit confused by something.

This is an autobiography. Meaning the Stig himself wrote this. Why would do this?
Wouldn't he know that this would put him in trouble with the BBC and the Top Gear staff? I mean this is his job and he has it in his contract not to reveal himself.
Does he not want this job anymore or doesn't care?

So confusing.

So the Stig in the white is history.

What colour should the next Stig be?
and why couldn't the Stig write a book as the Stig and not reveal who he is?

the stig as the stig= way popular

the stig as ben collins= who cares

will not be the first time presumptive popularity goes far over 'stars' head.
