In this story, OJ says that he wanted to do this to get money due to his NFL retirement dwindling.

He goes on to say that he feels like he has the weight of the world off him.

Why would ANYONE (NT's included) be curious to watch him or read about him describing how he killed his ex and her boyfriend? What is this world coming to?

First off, humans are very interested in watching and listening to how others die. We humans are a sick group of creatures. Remember what they did in the Roman colissiums and the how many people would show up at hangings and other executions. This is true in Europe as well as North America (and any other continent).

I personally would like to see executions televised. I bet that would get higher ratings than the Super bowl.

I confess to be fascinated with serial killers and the like...this case, however, has always been beyond disgusting. there is something really, really wrong with that man. in that article you linked, he said something to the effect of "I talked to my kids about it, and told them it was blood money...they are okay with it."

WHAT?? you think your KIDS are OKAY with you participating in a book that describes your "hypothetical" method of murdering their MOTHER????

good grief. he should just fall into a hole somewhere.

I like to watch Forensic Files and Dayle Hinman on Court TV. I also like First 48 on A&E. I'm fascinated too.

I worked as a nanny the summer that OJ [probably] killed his ex and her boyfriend. The TV was ALL OJ ALL THE TIME when the little girl was taking her naps, so I got my fill of it then...

I also can't believe that he would admit it was blood money.

I guess I'd be OK with it if he really confessed and gave the money to Ron & Nicole's families and the kids. Actually, I think I would be sort of interested if I knew that he wouldn't get any money from it.

A strange kind of honesty can come from the strangest places.

Now there are going to be people who are burning with curiosity about what he had to say. If we really can just ignore it maybe there is more hope for humanity than we thought, when we can just wave a hand and say "just go away" to something like this.

I'm glad that show did not air. I felt what he did was low even for him. Shame he was found not guilty.

Note the title of the MSN Commentary: "With cancellation, Fox shows rare sanity"

I was pretty shocked that Fox (the worst of the worst at sensationalism IMHO) showed that kind of restraint.

It's just too bad that they showed sanity about a non-issue about this. Come on, it's old news, it's been abjudicated, and I'm not sure who won, and it's completely a throw-away issue that has no effect except to make a few people gasp, first with shock and then with relief. Other than that, it has no value.

I'd have to agree with you there.

Unfortunately, I think that the media is pandering to what people want.

Given both Fox News AND the publisher are owned by Rupert Murdock of all people, I'm not surprised. Traditonal conservative christian values; glorified murder is a sin, take it or leave it. ^_~

I'm sure most people would kill (literally) for the chance to be national icons and publish books about how they would go about killing people left and right... ESPECIALLY if they knew there was gonna be a show-trial with an 'innocent' verdict.

That being said, I'd read the book out of curiousity; I like seeing how people, even disgustingly famous ones, think. I don't know (and at this point really don't CARE) whether he was REALLY guilty or not -- Ten thousand murderers are a bigger problem than one, besides I want to see him picking his brain and showing the cerebral boogers to those of us who would put them in microscope slides.

If I were to get a $100,000 paycheck to write "If I would've shot everybody who I deemed deserving back in high school...", I'd surely write my most morbid thoughts on paper for all the world to see.

Well, hypothetical murders are big business.
