AspieWeb is part of a much bigger autism community and I think its time I start giving back to the community. From August 2010 forward 25% of profit that AspieWeb and its partner site Autism Insurance Info from its advertisers, paypal donations and the AspieWeb store will be donated to a person, organization or group that has a mission or goal of supporting people with Autism in one way or another.

At least, there's one decent organization, out there that is interested in our welfare.

At least it is going to something more charitable than Autism Speaks.

Yeah, I looked through their tax form (I get bored easily  ), they spent more on salaries than they did on both their research grants and services for actually helping autistic people... Put together.

You could find any charity organisation and discover similair findings Asp-Z

Why don't you look through the National Autistic Socities financial information? They make it well known they have a turnover of over £60 million. A breakdown of their spending will yield intriguing results.

Bulls**t. Here's the stats for the National Autistic Society:

Annual income - what the charity received in the year £81,587,000
Annual expenditure - what the charity spent in the year £79,865,000
Governance costs - what the charity spent to run itself £348,000
Fundraising costs - spent to increase income £2,171,000
Estimated government income* - carrying out gov't policy £69,708,000
Highest salary £100 000 - £110 000

Much much MUCH better than Autism Speaks.

Details please?

The NAS to my knowledge don't employ robots to man their schools, day centres and offices.

All I can find is this: http://www.intelligentgiving.com/charity/269425

Those are last year's numbers, but it's clear how they operate. It even says on that site:

ANNUAL EXPENDITURE
£79,865,000
SPENT ON CHARITABLE WORK
96%

It also says the highest salary is £100,000-£100,000. That's about $156,000. Way less than a lot of salaries I saw on the Autism Speaks documents, the highest of which was over $300,000.

If you can find more documents (I'm looking around their site and can't find anything), please do link to them.

But I wonder what the percentage would be if you calculated how much of Autism Speaks' expenditure went to charitable work... 20%?
