The horror stories in this state just keep on coming...

I think worse story ever though has to be the one about the teacher who plotted to poison an autistic kid. That was the most appalling thing I ever heard done to an autistic child in my hometown!

I live in this state, and can say I never experienced an incident like that one but the school system was still pretty rough. I can't imagine it being specific to the state, however.

I don't believe the origin of the term is all that clear. Calling someone an indianaian sounds horrid; I don't understand what you mean.

Things like this happen all the time, almost everywhere. They mostly go unreported. Indiana is probably no more safe than Michigan or California.

Another thing, what's the big deal? It's easily removable tape. It sounds like it was only the mouth covered. The child could still breath, and could have at any time removed the tape. Also there is no way that a resisting student could have had their mouth taped.

Youth is wasted on the young. You need to set your Internet connection to read-only until you turn about 21. Until then, keep quiet and keep reading and learning.

Kid was basically abused! Emotional scars! Psychological trauma! This could and probably will mess him up for the rest of his life. If you weren't a kid I'd probably be very upset that you think this is not a big deal. But you are a kid so I'll chalk this up to cluelessness.

That child will remember that humiliation from a teacher, who is supposed to provide protection for all students, for the rest of the child's life. That sounds plenty harmful to me.

I am forty and I still have flashbacks from stuff that happened when I was in grade school. I hope they sue the pants off the teacher and the school district. People do not learn from a good talking too, you got to hurt them physically or finacially to get them to take what they did seriously. Thats the only way you can get a school district and the teacher it employees to toe the line when dealing with bad teachers.
