RIP to a lady who handled class with grace, thereby bringing grace to class as an exemplar to all.

(Edit: Took me a while to find the word I was seeking: exemplar.)

Just the other night on the news they talked about how treatment wouldn't do her any good. :( It is sad about her passing, especally since she died really close to Christmas.

Her death could have been prevented..or rather postponed. John Edwards dragged Elizabeth all over the country while she needed intensive medical care because she had a very aggressive form of breast cancer, Although she was diagnosed during the Kerry/bush campain... 4 years alter when she was very ill, he dragged her all over the country during the primaries. He needed to stay home and be there for her, but his desire for power was more important than his wife's health. If they caught it early enough, she would not have died of cancer, but she was too busy being the wind beneath Edward's wings to get things check out, and I am sure she knew something was not right. I remember during the Kerry Bush battle, she looked sick. I have a chronicly ill mother, I can see it a mile away. She had to know something was wrong, but because of her husband's lust for power...she probably did not get it checked out until the end of the race. By then, it had taken hold.

Then the creep had the audacity to cheat on her. Mom knew right away that he was a cheatin' man cuz he looked too polished and his wife looked just run down and wore out and ill.
Well 5 years later, mom was right.

Elizabeth Edwards deserved better.

I am glad he is not president if that is how he treats his own wife that power is more important than her life, although Obama is just the white house uncle tom, he does know to respect his wife's biceps.

she rests in the bright world above the here and now, finally free of the humdrum of human earthly confinement, at play in the endless fields of the lord.

There is not an iota of empirical evidence to support the above assertion. Not a bit. Not a dab. Not a speck.

It's still a nice thought. There's no harm in thinking good things.

but there is not absolute evidence that it is not true, either

I was watching the news over the weekend and Westboro came up again. They went to Elizabeth Edwards funeral to protest. She was for abortion and gay rights I believe.
