What I want to know is, what are they going to do when they dig down to target level and find tons of nuclear waste that's already been sitting there for 100,000 years. 8O

Fill up the hole and go back to ground level.

There is no doubt that the Japanese disaster is rapidly turning into a world disaster that could kill millions of people.

Nonsense. Even if you take into account the cancer deaths from the Chernobyl disaster, there are still coal mining accidents that have killed more people than that. Yet, energy from coal is thought to be less dangerous than nuclear energy? The amount of radiation from the Fukushima plant that's reaching other parts of the world is hardly enough to cause a health hazard.

Also, did you know that, due to small amounts of uranium in coal, that coal burning releases radiation 40 times higher than a nuclear power station running normally?
