In order to protest the cutting of funding for services for all people with disabilities, the president of the Texas Advocates decided on this creative idea:
Send Lemons to the repesentatives in Austin. All chapters (Arcs in Texas) are invited to send a box of lemons to their representative's offices either locally, or in Austin. The idea is to make Texas Lemonade out of funding.
The "water" used to make the "lemonade" is by using the Rainy Day Funds to increase funding for Medicade and other programs.
Does this sound like a great idea that other Arcs can use to help in their communities? (for different problems, though).
