stuff like this is definitely needed, especially when the justice system itself benefits the criminals far more than the victims, and the cops don't do their job in the first place.

Well, that last is hardly the case in Seattle - I just hope the Reals don't find themselves in the position of having to take down some of the local cops for their misdeeds (little things like an undercover officer kicking the crap out of a suspect without ever identifying himself, or a uniformed officer beating up a teenage girl who was already in custody because she kicked her shoe off in his general direction, or the one who shot the drunk woodcarver, or the one who bounced a suspect's head off the hood of his cruiser for failing to bring his left arm around quickly enough to suit the officer, or...).

Seconded! Maybe these "superheroes" should spread into BC, ID, and OR!

Taken seriously vigilante justice is an unnecessary descent into medieval barbarity. It's hard to take someone dressed in tights and a mask seriously though.

Oregon (Incidentally, Portland's Zetaman, who focuses primarily on helping the homeless, thinks Phoenix Jones' use of a Taser against criminals is excessively dangerous.)

I also found mention of a Thanatos, apparently operating out of the Vancouver, BC, area, but no listings for Idaho currently at the RLSH database...

I'd prevent a crime if was happening right in front of me, but going out and looking for it is a whole different story. Since I hold a CPL, I'm actually held to a higher legal standard than most people and absolutely can't even have a hint of "looking for trouble" if I were to be involved in a defensive incident, I'd probably be charged and definitely be sued. Too bad though, I do look good in body armor and a domino mask... :D

The whole reasoning of our social compact into the state is giving the state the power of authority...the state is the only legitimate coercison mechanism. You can't have a feudal system of knights, vigiliantes, mercenaries etc...it in of itself proves a threat to the stability of the state, as it allowed the privatization of violence which ultimately will lead to the underminning of our societies laws and centralized authority.
