Healthcare Reform going to the Supreme Court
You've probably already heard about this, but ever since President Obama signed the Healthcare Reform into law there's been a lot of controversy against the new healthcare policies. One of the most heated debates is insurance. Under the Healthcare Reform everyone must buy health insurance, or they may have to pay a fine. This has a lot of people steamed, especially governers and Congresspeople who opposed the bill, and now this case is going to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The insurance mandate was a compromise. I would have preferred the original proposal of the Obama administration of having the option of a government health insurance. This would have made the price go down and force the commercial health insurance companies to reduce their prices to compete with the government. This would eliminate the need for a mandate.
Many will assume the government would be incapable of inexpensive health care insurance, but they already provide this option to members of congress, among others. Having more sign up for this would tend to reduce the cost further. Unfortunately, the rest of us do not have this option currently. The Republicans in congress forced the Democrats to withdraw this option from the final legislation.
