I hate that you are going through that. I remeber a flood in 1994 here in Georgia, US. It was really bad. What happened has a tropical storm got stalled by a strong cold front for 3 days and it flooded the area so bad that almost every dam busted. I was lucky cause I was living in a high elivation area of town, but people in downtown macon, Ga were flooded to the 3rd story of the building.
I remember that we could not leave Perry, although, the elivation was higher...it was surrounded by water on every exit out of town and I remeber hearing stories about water snakes and gators in folks front yards. It was a crazy time. I hope the water receeds for you all soon.
other than that, be careful.
Dont go in the water...unless you have to cause it could contain sewage.
Dont go driving through the water...execailly large puddles cause what may look like a puddle could be a big hole in the road and you could fall in.
buy bottled water as much as you can afford,
get a flashlight with fresh batteries...keep a supply of batteries
a camp stove with fuel
canned foods with a can opener...dont forget canned meat too.
have pots an pans to cook with
keep your pets with you
try to keep to the highest level possible
get a flood proof safe to put important documents and any medicine or small valuables in.
and repeat...dont go in the water...unless you have to cause you have no idea what is in that water
trust your intuition, and be safe,
Jojo
