I enjoy watching Storm Stories because i learned a lot about tornado's. It has always interested me how they form and how much damage they cause. It is horrible that whatever gets in the path of a twister has little chance of surviving. The poor animals in the field never knew what hit them. It sucks when you hear the tornado warning and you are in a car or in an unsafe location. Unfortunately in my state there has been a tornado this year but my city was not affected. Whenever i see the sky so dark and lighting followed by huge balls of hail i worry that it is always a possibility. I respect all the real life storm chasers who risk their life helping scientists research tornado's. Sometimes they collect useful data and almost die doing it. I know one thing i would rather watch a tornado on television than be in its path. I will continue to learn more about these monsters. I am just glad that our tornado wasn't an F5 and only four people died. No matter what happens i am so blessed to be alive and safe.

Tornado chasing is a way for Danger Freaks to do something useful with their neurosis.

I almost did it once. It was an annual class trip. I chickened out at the end, but I think the expense scared me more than the trip. It's really not that dangerous when you know what you're doing and a lot has been discovered in the process.

A dream date of mine..or perhaps can call it just a dream..would be a storm chasing trip with a lovely lady. Well, even if we don't encounter any interesting weather...the journey with special company would be more than enough to make my day. Or, my life

I live in a town that's been hit by several bad tornadoes, one had the highest winds recorded on the planet. They are really scary but I have been through so many I am pretty numb and handle them quite calmly.

Glad you were safe during yours.
