This is how low can they go....I lost what little respect I had for them.
I mean really that is sooo lame, do they really think that the porn crowd is going to give a d@mn about abuse of animals when they could care less about the abuse of women of their own species. I mean really these people have more than a screws loose if they think that is going to promote their agenda.

While I am on the subject....my brother went fishing with his friends last weekend, and I asked if they caught anything. He said ya, but catch and release only. I asked why, it is a public lake...he said one of the girls with him was Peta. Confused and soo AS, I asked is that Peta like the animal rights group, or Pita, like pain in the @ss? The whole room looked like I slapped everyone in one fling swoop.
After the stunned silence, my brother smiled and said, "both"

I dont see the big news. Peta has always used naked women to promote their agenda.

I LOVED your comment (I know you were genuinely asking, but it is funny anyway). If I was there I would have laughed my @ss off. Some people nowadays just restrain their reactions because they do not want to be "politically incorrect". I am as politically incorrect as possible, and proud of it.

Ya in retrospect, it is rather funny...at the time I said it...you could hear a pin drop. I am usually shy and well behaved...but I am also a wildcard too. People never know what I am going to say. My sister and I get into it all the time because of something said that she read too far into thinking I had some motive.
Congrats on breaking out of the politically correct straight-jacket...I think some people get offended because they wish at some level they could be so honest about the truth of matters.

I did not know that Peta has been doing this sort of thing for a while. It is really stupid though....sex sells alot of things, but not compassion for abused animals. Does not compute.

I think the intention here is to use sexually provocative images to draw attention to the issue of animal welfare and prevention of animal abuse.

Porn is plentiful and one only has to switch on their TV sets or surf the internet to passively take in porn dressed up as advertising or popular adult entertainment. Sex sells whether we like it or not.

I strongly suspect the use of these images in public places will draw attention from all (not just porn users). That's what they (PETA) wanted to achieve.

IMO, PETA is more about politics than it is about helping animals. Attempting to purchase advertising space on the walls lining the Osama Bin Laden compound while pushing soft porn makes them an entity that most ignore regardless of their marketing strategies.

It's remarkably efficient: it sets back the agenda for both women's equality and animal rights in one master stroke.

What a bunch of fuckwits.

I am vegetarian and know a lot of vegetarians and vegans online, and I can say that the vast majority of them are extremely embarrassed by PETA and their advertising tactics, and angry that they are doing this. PETA are not doing themselves or animals or women any good by doing this.

So maybe you all should start a different animal rights group that can compete with Peta for funding.

Well, there are all sorts of groups. PETA are not the only one that exists.

Heh, exploitation of animals is unforgivable and yet exploitation of women is A-OK? lol, I'm sure the feminists will love this irony.

The underlying premise of PETA is hatred of the human species.

You know there are deep ecologists that believe that humans are a disease on earth and they are waiting for their "mesiah" of sorts that will kill all of humanity. Sweet thought, huh?
I wonder if Peta are deep ecologists

Sounds like they have a very white-washed and fanciful notion of the rest of nature. Then again armed with that they might just become wholesale exterminists.

I do think that modern society is a disease on earth. I think we are steadily walking towards our destruction (I am not that sure if the destruction of the planet, too. I think not even HUMANS can destroy nature -not that we are not trying.) But I am waiting for no "messiah". And I do not think that destroying the human race is the solution. Fight destruction with destruction? What ever happened to love, understanding and education? I hope we are raising a more conscious new generation of people that will take better care of our planet (I know I am, at least).

I hope so too.
I dont believe in manmade climate change but there are many other ways that hamans have chemically and biologically altered the earth, and not the better, but I think the solution is to become intune with the earth's processes and cycles and working against them. Meaning, we are disconected from the earth even though we live on earth, living, working in artifical enviroments which reshape the earth's ecosystem.
However, hating humanity or even humanicide is not the answer, nor is exploiting women.
