I read a article about scientists using a blue lasers to cure autism in mice. They use the laser light to change gamma waves in the mice brains. I know that it would take a few years or decades before this becomes a treatment for autism. Also tms and neurofeedback therpy will take a few years to develop. I would want have one these treatments doing on me.

Not to mention the interesting concept of "autism in mice". Well, I suppose mice do have delays in learning to speak. 8O

They'd better not try that on me.

So it has finally been proven: All autistics are blu-ray discs.

Another wacko file to burn on the pile of ignorance and to file in the database of shame.

Please provide a link to the article, or at least post where it can be found.

Otherwise, there is no evidence to support your claim.

Thank you for this, troll! I'm going to shove my head inside a blu-ray player as we speak...

How does one determine if a mouse is autistic?

Well, it's obviously being asocial...Walking on tip toes... :P Is likely unable to reproduce due to being unable to play the social game... Likely adverts its eyes from the evil scientists that are holding its tail? Likely stims itself? :P Is hypersensitive and avoids being touched? :o

All things that I don't do, although calling me not 'autistic' is quite a big load of balls. We have much more nuance than this.

The first hit was from the Discovery Channel - not exactly peer-group review ...

One of the main signs that a claim may be bogus is that it is first presented in the popular media, rather than a peer-review journal.

Quote:
The mice were anesthetized during the procedure, so the induced gamma waves didn't change how the mice behaved.

Thus, there is no evidence that this treatment has any effect on autistic behavior.

Quote:
"This is really powerful technology," said Edward Scolnick, Director of the Psychiatric Disease Program at the Broad Institute. "It allows you to turn on and off specific circuits inside the brain."

Ooo ... We have a new toy! Let's see what else it does!

Quote:
This is still basic research, caution scientists, limited to the lab and years away from any clinical or therapeutic use.

... a caveat that is obviously being ignored by the popular media and by the OP.

Quote:
But Konstantinos Meletis, another MIT co-author, believes that the blue laser could directly treat autism, schizophrenia or attention deficient disorder.

Belief proves nothing.

Nothing more to see here, folks ... move along ... move along ...

If they're blue gammas, they might just create Bizarro Hulk...
