Goodness. This one's so disconcerting. I couldn't believe they did that to the soldiers. Okay, given that not all of the remains could be identified, they could have interred said remains in a more dignified and public way, such that it honored the legacy of said soldiers.

Aside from the contempt for human life and contempt for human grief, this is illegal disposal of human remains. If whoever gave the orders and whoever KNOWINGLY carried out those orders slides out from under appropriate discipline for their mistreatment of American soldiers, each one of them can be charged with, again, illegal disposal of human remains. I did focus on 'knowingly' because someone along the line probably did not know what was being dumped.

According to the article the practice was stopped in 2008:
The US Air Force dumped the cremated, partial remains of at least 274 troops in a landfill before halting the secretive practice in 2008, the Washington Post reported Thursday. Obama didn't assume office until 2009, so the Commander-in-Chief at the time around 2008 and before was Bush.

I support the troops, although I dont support the wars.
The troops are still putting the life on the line for the country even though the war on Al Quada could be fought more efficiently.
Most of the warring in the middle east, I suspect is over oil and some say poppies.

Neverless, for right or for wrong, the soldiers still die daily for our country's agenda. In the very least, they deserve to be honored in death.
The fact that they were thrown in the trash is very telling of how the bush admistration regarded the soilders....merely disposable pawns.

Personally, I think that if a president is going to be a war president he/she should have served in a war. Its only fair.

You do support the troops: They operate because of your tax dollars :)

So are mine, but I don't support them in any other way. It was there decision, and I doubt many of them realized what they were doing.

But I doubt they signed up to have their bodies dropped off at the dump, they should have at least had better than that. Hope the families get some money.
