This is horrifying. What is wrong with her. I mean specifically, what psychological problem makes someone do that.

OMG, I wish I hadn't read that, now.

Maybe she's a sociopath. They tend to kill small animals (remorselessly) before they graduate to killing humans.

What in the hell gives? This is fu@ked up, my blood is boiling right now. If I was her judge, I'd sentence her to much more then a hundred-some days. Pets never do anything to anyone in spite. They simply do what they have to in order to survive. Which is why I think that in someways, what she did is worse then committing murder. I hope she gets torn inside out in jail. Even those "hardened" criminals she's going to be with will have empathy for innocent baby animals!

I'd really like to believe the defence, but it is just so unlikely.

Some people are just evil and animals are just objects rather than a living thing with a nervous system.

That's horrible. In related news a [expletive deleted], who is also believed to reside within the UK, has made at least two videos wherein she tortures and kills cats. Someone, most likely the perpetrator herself, recently uploaded the videos to YouTube. Given my fondness for felids I, to put it mildly, really don't like these people.

In years gone by I only rarely heard about this variety of animal abuse occurring. Has its frequency increased or is the media merely keeping us better informed?

I would have been more likely to believe she accidentally closed the door on it after it got in if she was busy and not paying attention. But that would still be pretty F'ed up.

Are you hinting somebody here has microwaved a kitten?

I would find that even harder to believe. You don't put the microwave on unless there's food in it. Bit difficult to put the food in and overlook the presence of a cat.

Why?? Because she could.

My lovely (socially acceptable, may I add) cousins used to make a game of scoring "points" by running over various animals with cars, lawn mowers, et cetera.

IRRC, domestic animals had a higher "point" value than wild ones, with cats and small dogs being particularly desirable as they were unlikely to damage the vehicle.

They once thought I was completely insane for turning around to put a groundhog I had hit out of its misery. It was writhing spasmodically in the middle of the road. I whacked it in the head with a tire iron until it stopped moving, then sat down, punched myself in the face, and smoked a bunch of cigarettes until I stopped shaking.

I'd have liked to hit them too, but that's not OK.

I'm hinting that some things have the same origin to which most chose to remain oblivious to.
And then insist on the differences in order for themselves not to change their comfy lifestyle.
I find this emotional reaction selective and two-faced.

Or in other words I don't see what's the big deal with fluffy kittens when there are so many tiny chicks, for instance, being ground alive.
