Something's rotten in the State of Demark.

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?
I don't twit or do FaceBook, or any of the other social web sites, except here at WP, and Dear Abby. Too many people are foolish exhibitionists. I never put really personal stuff or financial stuff online--including no banking online. I have no trouble keeping in touch with people by phone and email, and I will only use my Walmart card or a prepaid credit card online. If you don't want to put your personal and financial stuff at risk, keep it off the web. DUH.
I am in the process of adding some of the apps from my Google home page onto my other home pages at other sites, so I can dump the new, more intrusive Google. I rarely use their search feature, preferring to use Ixquick instead. Ixquick doesn't record your PC address, so your searches are a private matter. I've also used Scroogle a few times, too, as that one is also supposed to let you do private searches.
Too many sites prefer to make money off of selling your info, and also there are too many creeps out there trying to steal your info, or crash your PC. Privacy and security on the web are up to the user. If you don't take protective steps, then you place yourself, and your personal and financial stuff at risk.
