Do they really think the world is so obsessed with our government?

Of course they are. America is the world's guilty pleasure. A lot of people around the world dont like Bush and would like to see him go. The US is most dominant political, economic, and military force in the world, of course the world cares what we do, and who runs our country.

I care, but only when it comes to ridiculous things..

Like hearing about the plan to "safeguard space"

WHAT!?

Its neo-colonialism "quick we gotta take over space, and the moon, and mars, before those foreign bastards get it"

But otherwise no I don't really care what they're doing that much, except that our government (australia) seems to brown nose a bit too much.

Iraq is this generation's Vietnam. And what's even more embarrassing is that we followed you in, giving you support that, according to Donald Rumsfeld, you "barely needed."

What utter garbage this is so close to the midterms. It's just a way of striking fear into the general population so that they'll vote Republican. It won't actually do anything noteworthy, just give Congress a mild shuffle.

The "walking boss" - Boss Godfrey - in Cool Hand Luke.

The quote in my signature is from that movie too.

Obiously Iraq and terrorists are going to be obsessed with the US government - because if they don't get 51% of our majority to vote for the guy who says we need to get out of the Middle East, the terrorists are going to be dead/captured/attacked.

Lots of people in the US also don't like Bush and are waiting until January 20, 2009, when he'll go. (People who don't like Bush generally don't want to wish him ill, because we like the VEEP, Cheney, even less. 8O

My favorite item from the Bush Administration hit parade was when someone (It might have been Cheney) said how damaging dissent is to the war effort. 8O 8O 8O

That's as bad as Blair arguing that liberty isn't relevant to modern life (referring to the UK government's bastard Stasi database scheme).
