Quote:
In an exchange about al-Qaida during the debate, Obama attacked Romney for calling Russia “without question, our No. 1 geopolitical foe” earlier this year.

“Gov. Romney, I’m glad you recognize al-Qaida is a threat, because a few months ago when you were asked what is the biggest geopolitical group facing America, you said Russia, not al-Qaida,” Obama said. “You said Russia. And the 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back. Because the Cold War has been over for 20 years. But Governor, when it comes to our foreign policy, you seem to want to import the foreign policies of the 1980s, just like the social policy of the 1950s, and the economic policies of the 1920s.”

Concerning the economy Romney said:

I think they both missed on our enemy. They both need one.

We are the enemy, and have tied up our future with China.

In reality, the downfall of this country, whenever it happens, won't be from outside but from inside. There is nothing that any other country can do to us that is as bad as what we are doing to ourselves by our literal destruction of the economic future of the country. Economics will bring about our demise, not any foreign country.

I'm giving this one to Barack. Now let's see if this breaks the tie in the polls any.

I didn't see any real winner in the debate, but I did think that Romney came out looking a little more Presidential than did Obama. Obama looked more like the challenger.

Obama messed up his math.

If it happened in the 1980's, it was 30 years ago, not 20. >:I

Why are none of our presidents as badass as Andrew Jackson?

I knew I'd seen Romney somewhere before....

He's a vampire. And not one of those sexy twilight ones either....

Don't vote for vampires. They suck.

Yes. He will suck the life out of the 47% or, more likely, 90%.

Romney was even less articulate than Obama was in the first debate. I'm not sure what happened to him. He just caved, on all points. He failed to lay out a good reason for increasing the military budget when our country has a massive national debt, and Obama was quick to capitalize on that. When Romney mentioned the teacher's unions were going to have to go, Obama was quick to make a huge point about education, and how our weak education system makes our workforce less competitive globally, laying out plans to comprehensively reform the system, without straying from the topic of national defense for too long.

Romney failed to bring up Libya at any point. I guess he was too shellshocked from the "proceed governor" exchange last time to attempt touching it again.

It was a bad debate for Romney, but the 3rd debate historically has the least effect on the outcome of all of the debates. So we'll have to sit back and see what comes of this.

They were both badass.

The trail of tears was either A.J. being genocidal or an attempt to avoid civil war. Probably both. I wasn't referring to that, though, I was referring to the parrot who swore himself out of his funeral, and the hilariously failed assassination attempt.

Teddy Roosevelt, of course, got shot in the chest and went, "Eh, I'm OK," and gave an hour-long speech. Pretty badass.

George Washington was also very badass. Apparently after battles he found bullet holes in his clothes but he wasn't hurt. And he predicted every problem that the USA would face pretty accurately.

Abraham Lincoln did a few badass things...like telling a guy he wanted to duel with broadswords in a pit.

And none of our other presidents were so badass.

Romney claimed our navy is the smallest since 1916, but the smallest it has been since 1916 was in 2007, when it hit 278 (Bush had come into office with it over 300), there are actually more ships now than there were when Obama came into office.

2007, so not only not the smallest since 1916 but not even the smallest it's been since Romney started running for president. 8O

What's amazing about that is that this isn't one of those issues where Republicans read statistics one way and Democrats another or they use different studies, Romney was using the official statistics on ship force levels, and he just decided to tell a bald faced lie to the American people about what they said. :?

Then there was the "Syria is Iran's outlet to the sea" part....

I guess Ms. South Carolina was right, "some people out there in our nation don’t have maps"

Never mind that one aircraft carrier could conquer every navy in the world from 1916.
