A man attempting a hoax of bigfoot by stepping out in the middle of the road in front of a car, is hit, not once, but twice and died from injuries.

Wow....this should win a darwin award.

Lol, I wonder if that is refering to the catfish or residents?

 This reminded me to get my Darwin Awards fix. I have had countless laughs at the expense of these morons. Anyone remember the engineer who built a rocket car and smashed it (and himself) into the side of a cliff? Or the 17-year-old boy who was messing around with M80s and consequently removed himself from the gene pool when he tried to attenuate the blast with his thighs?

For the Record...

Darwin Award (noun): A fictional award that is often granted posthumously to a person who knowingly and willfully commits an act that permanently removes the person from the human gene pool, either by death or by the permanent removal of their reproductive organs.

Totally debunked, everyone from Mythbusters to Snopes to the Darwin's themselves now acknowledges that it never happened.

To paraphrase Winston Churchill, "It might not have happened, but it should have."

If it wasn't for alcohol, the Darwin Awards would be boring!

LOL true!

Did you hear about the winner a few years ago who was a gas leak specialist called in because there was a massive gas leak in comercial building...all the lights were off because their spark could cause an explosion. So he couldnt see, so what did he do? He lit a match which promptly causes a major explosion...needless to say he did not survive his moment of stupidity.

I personally don't believe that many of the Darwin Awards (or 1000 Ways to Die - save for the criticality test) cases are true at all; just good stories to tell your drunk friends, yet this one said confirmed the last time I read it. Still provides comic relief. I've even seen countless faked images of mangled corpses on Documenting Reality. But we can still pretend it's real for the sake of humor, right?

A whole lot of stories on 1000 Ways To Die have gotten the facts wrong, very often to make it look like the victims were deserving to die.

I am aware of this upon searching 2 years ago for all documented deaths profiled on the show. It's meant to be a form of comedy based on true fatalities. For example, the aforementioned criticality test with the "demon core" was performed not by terrorists, but by two separate physicists (Harry Daghlian and Louis Slotin) and who both eventually died from performing the experiment.

This is just evolution thinning out the herd.We had a bad ice storm a few years ago and the power was out for weeks. The local E.R. was full of people who tried to run generators in their houses.Since there are few large predators left to thin out the stupid humans, evolution has to depend on their own stupidity to take them out.

Is that like an evolutionary self destruct button?

A new bride in Canada, just a couple of weeks ago was posing, in her wedding gown, on the edge of a picturesque lake.
The very edge.
The dress soaked up water, the weight pulled her in, then under, the water, she drowned.
True.
Where I live is a famous old wooden roller-coaster.
Years ago, a teenager stood up in his seat, when the cars were at the highest point;
He yelled "Stop the world, I want to get off!"
He fell, was dead upon impact.
