Says something that this guy, although he's done loads and loads of stuff since, is still remembered for a TV series produced nearly 25 years ago.

And I rather admire Rowan Atkinson. He seems a jolly good fellow, and supports free speech reform campaigns.

Very smart and nice guy.

Plus I always believed Mr Bean to be an Aspie. He actually very inventive and his driving and parking reminds me of my own.

Does he have another Johnny English movie coming out? I love watching his early stand-up sets.

You don't mean 2011's Johnny English Reborn do you? That's been out on DVD and BD for a year now.

I thought I saw a new movie trailer with him recently...but I don't see any new listings. Must have been mistaken.

I don't know, he kind of came off as cold and, almost, excessively arrogant, in his appearance on Top Gear. I think he's a funny guy and he has impeccable taste in cars but I couldn't shake the impression that he believes his wealth and success makes him a superior person. Perhaps it was just an act, though. Regardless. the McLaren F1 is an amazing car and I'm glad he had the funds to restore it to it's original glory.

Cold and excessively arrogant? Most of the Blackadder characters were like that.

I cannot get Rowan Atkinson's delightful series 'The Thin Blue Line' on Netflix or iTunes.

I am seriously depressed by this and need ice cream and hot tea.

Mr. Atkinson was in the television version of 'Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy', wearing a black leather bikini.

The other man, also in a black leather bikini, is the actor who played Blackadder's faithful servant, Baldrick.

One of the few highlights of Christmas is watching Merry Chistmas Mr. Bean, I so badly wish I could get away with a fraction of the stuff he does as my impluses and creativity tend to be exactly like his.

People like him and Cleese aren't that pleasant in real life......Sellers , for example , was a total douche....a house tyrant basically.

I heard Atkinson came into a grocery store (Asda ?) once at the end of the day , demanding special treatment and voicing his displeasure since the items he wanted to buy were sold out , how about getting there earlier then......it's not the staffs fault they're sold out

Mr. Bean is the worst TV show ever. In order to make it, they had to cancel The Benny Hill Show, which is my favorite show of all time. He died 3 years later alone, in his flat, of a heart attack.

Don't forget that it had been on the air, on and off, for 45 years (and had amassed 99 UK episodes), that audience ratings were declining as people were no longer showing as much interest in it and it was increasingly costly to make them. Consider yourself lucky that you got literally days of material - many great comedy shows only last a couple of hours combined running time.

I take it you have the uncut region 2 DVD sets of the series?

I thought the show was cancelled because it was becoming the same old tired, sexist tat every week. Audience figures had also dropped from a peak of 21 million in 1977 to 9 million for the last show in 1989.
It wouldn't have lasted much longer anyway in the face of the alternative comedy acts appearing and the evolving sketch shows like Fry & Laurie and French & Saunders, who were all more insightful and satirical.
Attitudes and humour moved on; Benny Hill didn't. His time had passed and his "saucy postcard" -style of humour (and I think that's being generous) was no longer mainstream. It's a bit rich to try and cast the blame on Mr. Bean for that.
