First that guy in Florida.
And now a man in China just got swallowed up by a 25 foot wide 50 foot deep sinkhole that opened up in a downtown construction site in south China.

Both those areas have something in common. The human population has extracted so much water from the underground aquifers that the hollowed out portions of the ground beneath have weakened and given way.

Too many people in one small area = a lot of sink holes.
