One of my childhood heroes, Ray Harryhausen, has just passed on at the age of 92

I don't think my brain was ever quite the same again after seeing "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad" at an early age.

Rest in peace sir. You put a little bit of magic in my life

Many a Saturday or Sunday afternoon in my youth were brightened by this man's work. RIP.

I grew up with Harryhausen's movie magic, including The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, Valley Of The Gwangi, and a bunch of other movies that had captured my young imagination back then. His name will live on after the CGI special effects guys are long forgotten.
