I enjoyed the article. It's interesting that no matter how big a celebrity a person is, prosopagnosia results in the same frustrations. Again, I did not recognize my neighbor when she approached me. I thought she was someone selling something.

The world is a bigger place than we are sometimes told when young. And if a person can accept and even appreciate the neurological difference of prosopagnosia, it increases the chance he or she can accept and appreciate Asperger's-Autism Spectrum.

I am sometimes thrown by the fact that one person looks like another, even though I kind of know they're not.

That's something I did'nt expect to read.

Actually, it's a big step that a major hollywood figure is willing to talk about the issue.

I'd hope it would reduce the stigma that people feel about this particular neurological difference. Some people's brains arn't wired to recognize hundreds to thousands of faces. Some people's brains are wired to recognize tens of thousands.

In the next to the last sentence of the article, he says his ability to recognize faces has deteriorated drastically. Is that consistent with prosopagnosia? I think mine has stayed the same for six decades.
