Human sacrifice case: Cops to conduct narco test on suspect
The revelation was made during Pachange's interrogations by the Chakan police.
Sunil Baban Pachange (28), a tabla teacher from Kadchi Wadi hamlet near Chakan, was most probably assisted by another person when he killed a man and his mother to become rich instantly.
The revelation was made during Pachange’s interrogations by the Chakan police. The police are now contemplating to do a narco test on him.
Pachange had earlier told the police that a ‘tantrik’ (godman) had told the suspect that if he kills a man and a woman, he would become a millionaire.
This prompted him to ‘sacrifice’ Dhananjay Raju Jagtap (25) at Lonavla and his mother Durgabai at Sablewadi village on Ahmednagar Road on May 12.
Senior police inspector Sushil Kadam of Chakan police station, said, “During the interrogations, Pachange told us that he was assisted by a godman and his associate when he committed the crime. He was told that if he ‘sacrifices’ a man on ‘Durgaashatami’ and a woman on ‘Dashmi’, there would be a shower of gold and money on his house after midnight.”
He added, “During the interrogations, Pachange also told that the godman and his associate camped at Bhimshankar temple. Following the clue, we went to Bhimashankar, detained four godmen and questioned them. However, none of them had anything to do with human sacrifice.” Kadam feels that there is a possibility of Pachange cooking up stories to mislead the investigators. “We suspect he might still be scared and is cooking up stories,” he said.
According to the Chakan police, Pachange, who stays at his uncle’s place in Bhujbal lane, was acquainted with the victim Dhananjay and his mother Durgabai. Kadam said, “Pachange would be handed over to Lonavla police in the next couple of days.”
