The mayor of Toronto caught on video smoking crack cocaine

A murder has taken place in connexion with the video. The mayor claims that the video does not exist though people in his administration are resigning in droves and were looking for the video. The conservative movement is fighting on for their icon, crack-smoker Rob Ford. His brother was outed as having been a major drug dealer in the 1980s. The Fords fight on knowing that the conservative movement will shield them.

I saw this on The Daily Show not long ago, even before the major media had picked it up.
I might have voted no on the poll - - until learning just now that his brother is a drug dealer. I've seen this guy on TV, and he certainly comes across as erratic, probably drug addled, with uncontrollable rage and contempt for everyone else that it's very possible that he had gone to extreme measures to cover his ass and save his career.

Toronto gets scarier every day.

It's the revenge of the suburbs. Scarborough and Etobicoke voted en bloc for him and most of North York too. The original Toronto and East York voted for his opponent.

Of course, it would be perfectly acceptable for a liberal to act and/or talk like that....

The stereotype of liberals is that they are effette metrosexual wimps and the conservatives like having boors like Ford in their ranks to exhibit an "ordinary joe" contrast to that... of course when people on the Left start using strong language of any kind, like say Alan Grayson, these people are considered to be enemies of humanity by the mainstream media. They are seen to be angry haters who have no credibility, which is not what happens to the likes of Ford.

Rob Ford is many things.

He is a fiscal idiot.
He is a small-town, populist, conservative politician who believes that he can run the City of Toronto without the cooperation of any other level of government.
He has a conservative's mistrust of government, and refuses to take the advice and guidance of subject matter experts within the public service as a result.

But I do not believe that he ordered a hit on anyone. The Somali drug trade is violent enough to endanger all of its participants without the Mayor stepping in. Absent some evidence, this strikes me as an accusation too many.
