Ellen did a segment on funny names / signs, and someone sent her a pic of a sign advertising a home for sale, and the realtor's name was Titi Pierce, and Ellen, of course pronounced it "Titty" (it is pronounced TeeTee). LOL

It doesn't say it in THIS article, but I also heard that the woman stated in her lawsuit, that no one had EVER made this mistake in pronouncing her name. OMG, she is SOOOOOO lying!! !! !! !!

The article says that the woman was on the way to a funeral, when she started getting phone calls about the joke / laughter, on "Ellen" (posting her phone number was un-cool); and, that she's a private / proud person----blah, blah, blah.....

What she SHOULD'VE done, was capitalize on the fact that she was mentioned on Ellen's show, and say "Buy from ME"! !

No surprise. The "I'm gonna Sue" culture always goes after those perceived with deep pockets either personal money or a "nameless Corporation" or even a simple business that really can''t afford such shenannigans.

Tort law needs reform.



With a name like that I'd probably use my initials (Like T J Pierce or etc). But really civil tort is for damages caused by intentional harm /malice or negligence that was not covered in criminal law.



I agree. I'd cash in. Just tell the first and jillionth caller "No my name is Tee Tee Pierce, can I interest you in a home in this area? I have .... *insert sleep inducing list to promote sale or cause hang up* Thank You, Have a Nice Day"

I don't care much for Ellen, never really did. But honestly, if that segment has been running a while I am sure it has been vetted on liabilities by now. I also saw name as tittee. First World Problem Ms Pierce. Your name, well, your parents are either foreign born or dorks trying to pick a "ancestral " name without thinking.
And how "private" can she be in the commercial service industry? She is real estate agent!

And "on the way to a funeral" but picked up a call from a stranger? or she had a friend SO FRIPPIN RUDE that they just HAD to tell her THAT day instead of wait 24 hour?
