Yes. I've read this story. They could've just shifted the group of kids to the right, or maybe had the teacher stand to his right so the kid in the wheelchair wouldn't look left out. Hopefully they'll reshoot the class photo and be more accommodating next time.

I have heard Lifetouch retook the photo by removing the student from the wheelchair and placing him on the bleacher. But that has been criticized as well. Look at the below photo of a group of children with a slightly older person in a wheelchair and how naturally she fits into the group. I believe this is a very respectful photo. The person in the wheelchair does not detract from the others due to the increased space she takes up, nor is she removed from the close proximity to the others.
