It would be really, really, really nice if people posted an executive summary from the story or at least something to let everyone else know what it was about without having to click on the link.

For example, are you talking about some particular aspect of the story or the entire story? What is your point of view?

Also, these days so many news sites automatically start showing video that I'm getting to where I won't even consider clicking on them.

Please don't copy/paste articles here: there are potential issues with copyright (republishing).
Always link instead and maybe quote a salient extract or give your own summary of what it's about.

As eric76 says, it's nice to have some original point of view or commentary about the news item which is of particular interest or concern to you - because that gives other readers a hook and helps give the thread some sort of opening direction.
Otherwise... well, it's just some random news item.

Yet, there are many parts of my own country where similar things can and usually do happen to LGBT teenagers. Hatred knows no cultural boundaries.

It's bad for them to hate based on sexuality but fine for you to loathe an entire country for some of the people's beliefs? I don't think you're in any position to judge these skinhead rejects then.

I bet if the target of these humiliating attacks were not gays but local priests for example, the media would celebrate it the same way it did with p**** Riot (edit: hmm, turns out I can't spell that).

I wonder how long it'll the homophobes in this country to try pulling the same stunt.

Are you so certain? Mathew Sheppard, a young Wyoming gay man, had been tricked into accompanying two red necks with promises of sex, who fatally beat him, and left him strung up on a barbed wire fence.

According to wikipedia that incident was 15 years ago.
It's hardly indicative of what will happen in the future.

I was just wondering if gay haters in America will get the notion to do it. Could they get away with it if they did? In most parts of the country, thankfully no. Even Mathew Sheppard's murderers in Wyoming were quickly arrested, tried, and convicted.

I read the longer article on this (the Russian one) and what I got out of it is that the police aren't doing anything about it "because nobody has been killed". The one person interviewed is also warning that somebody will get killed eventually.
