One of the stories headlined on this site cites a new study that finds that we Aspies process (brain) faces the same way as do NTs. This might me right, but: both NTs and AS were brain scanned whilst being shown rows of face images. Images. Not actual present faces.
I do not know about you, but I always feel a pressure from a person's eyes - it feels like my head will explode each time I do look at a person's face. I do not get that feeling from an inert image.
The experiment tests a model, not reality.
NT science.

That is so right. I can recognise faces in pictures and even on TV, but I cannot find my partner in the supermarket unless I remember what she is wearing - and even that can cause problems. I once saw this woman crossing the road to my front door and when I answered it and she spoke, I realised it was my sister! It never ceases to amaze me how dumb some of these clever NTs can be. Did it not occur to them to talk to the Aspies being tested?

That's pretty bad--doing research on something that negates itself and then declaring it as a significant discovery. :?

frequently people mistake the map for the territory

also when the beleiving part of a person truly believes something, the proving part of that person will generally do its job as well

don't bother me with facts (the NT war cry)
