Bullying video' posted onto web
Bournemouth and Poole College
The videos are said to show the victim being taunted
Pupils in Dorset have been suspended amid claims they posted videos showing an autistic pupil being bullied at school on the internet.

Five pupils from Bournemouth and Poole College, Poole, were suspended by the school after it received complaints.

The National Autistic Society was alerted by an internet user who spotted the videos with a message which said the victim was autistic.

A college spokesperson said the incident was being investigated.

The videos are said to show the victim being taunted verbally and physically.

Benet Middleton, of the National Autistic Society, told BBC News: "Bullying is always bad but I think we can all agree that when the bullying is based on someone's disability it is particularly disgusting behaviour.

"It's reflective of a very worrying trend we're seeing.

"Research we've done recently shows children with autism are very, very, highly likely to be bullied - rising to as many as six out of ten with Asperger's, a high functioning form of autism."

The college said it had a strict stance on bullying and would be interviewing the children involved.

Yeah shocking that happen in college. Do not know the UK laws but the
victim should sue them for damages!

What strikes me as odd is that it is considered shocking for someone to be bullied in college, yet so many bullies get away with it up to this point in they're school careers.

In the UK the word "college" is used differently to the US. We'd normally associate it with 16 to 18 year olds. Furthermore, I think there's a trend to call inner-city schools, that are failing, fancy names like "academy" or "college" as a cosmetic exercise to hide the fact that they're dumps full of drugs, bullying and crime where most of the inmates can't even speak English; a consequence of decades of liberal education policy. Bring back the cane; a good thrashing would do them the world of good!

It wasn't beating people that worked before. It was having a program and knowing how to work the program.

.

there was a time when people were aghast to see Rodney King on
tape being billyclubbed by L.A cops. --- right now, a worker inside a
california hospital-clinic sold their cellphone to co-worker. one of the
staffers then video'd a fellow staffer punching & slapping one of the inmates.
right now, because of the cellphone video-footage, there is an upper-level
revue in the works due to the recording of the abuse on someone who is
at the very least ret*d if not autistic.

teens who as a group or gang use the net to nastily connect-up as well as
to boast after they bully or haze their peers need to be taken through
the legal system for these abuses. for the law to be on top of an
abusive situation, they must be aware it exists. right now, in
the better schools, cellphones for good or ill are omni-present.
they can be also a tool for better law enforcement...
