Current MJ worker such as trimmers are paid very well for there seasonal work. Unionizing would serve no purpose. This is only possible because of weed prohibition. Once that is removed more labor efficient mechanized methods would displace them. You would not need to be so efficient in the trimming process, a little more waste would make no difference in the end price. Actually this may happen anyways as it is quasi legal now and economies of scale are coming into play.

I want it to stay as it is with medical marijuana, all it needs is for the backwards states to embrace it. It has not hurt us Montanans but we are a strong and hearty people. Walking into a medical center, and looking at all the jars then walking out with your oz is rather liberating, retains your dignity and gives you a person to find accountable if something is wrong.


Both medical marihuana and homegrown marihuana can co-exist side to side, right? You can keep the medical marihuana that has a controlled growing process and adheres to the standards of medical marihuana, next to the pothead hobbyist who has a few plants in his garden. I don't believe anybody wants hospitals and medical professionals to buy weed for their patients from the local hippies.

More accurately, cannabis is the proper term.

As far as the "legalization" discussion goes. One problem that will arise is overzealous state legislatures over taxing it, making over the counter white-market sales noncompetitive with black market sales. And they will over tax it, that's all they know how to do. Already, Colorado is talking about a 25% tax and strict regulation on the growing and sale.

Then, local governments will attempt to get in the way, blocking retail establishments.

Even though the anti-cannabis segment of the population is a shrinking minority, they sit in the positions of power, and are vehemently against weed.

A battle may have been won, but the war isn't over.

I wonder how many cops are going to start smoking it when not on duty. Most of them already drink beer. :pig:

I'm a bit of a spelling nazi myself, but I thought marihuana was the most common spelling. An English version of the Spanish word marijuana. Marc Anthony vs Marcus Antonius.
In Dutch people usually say weed/wiet or cannabis.

I'd say given the high incidence of domestic violence among police officers, not many will give up beer for weed. I can't imagine you'd be interested in beating your spouse when your high. 8O
