Sounds like we need drug tests for politicians and intelligence tests for voters.

Jimmy Kimmel had a field day, showed film clips of him in non-crack related pratfalls and temper tantrums, and then showed him announcing that he "only used crack because at the time I was in a drunken stupor!" ( getting drunk as an excuse for using crack-works for me),and concluded that "I'm glad that Chris Farley has reincarnated as a big city mayor."

Yeah...he looks like Chris Farley, he is every bit a hilarious as Chris Farley, but unlike Chris Farley he isnt TRYING to be funny!

Possibly. Or he could wind up like ex-mayor of Washington, DC, Marion Barry. Some years back, Barry was caught smoking crack. He did time. When he got out, the voters of DC duly elected him to another public office, though not as mayor. So, if history repeats itself, this fellow might be on the city council of Toronto.

Why would he want to do crack? Are there not better drug choices for a politician? Why is he slumming?

I found this report quite interesting. Especially Drew Pinsky's remarks at 6:57.

alcohol is the gateway drug
you will find most people who have smoked crack started while they were drunk

Rob Ford, I feel is "winning" in the same way Charlie Sheen is.

This is making news even here in Australia. I actually feel kinda sorry for him – why I dunno, because there's actually no reason to feel sorry for him. Apparently he's a really controversial politician.

I think the difference is that with actors and rockstars we sort of expect them to use coke. I'm not really surprised this politician guy used coke, the only surprising thing is that he got caught.
And now his politician "friends" distance themselves from him like he's a leper. f**k them.

I don't care that he's using coke. He seems like a real a**hole though.

Anyway, he should be fired. He is breaking the law of course.

He needs help but he's also a douche and should step down.

As someone who considers Toronto my hometown and has been following Rob Ford's despicable antics since 2011/2012, I could see this coming. This is proof that if you post something on a computer: it's there forever. It doesn't matter if someone deletes a video: the police can always reassemble it.

Anyway, this so-called "mayor" has a wide and varied history of being incredibly egotistical, belligerent, incredibly disrespectful towards others, misusing his power and privilege and acting like he is above the law. He also is racist, a homophobe and clearly has problems with alcohol.

I feel that if someone is in a position of power, they need to set an example for others. Rob Ford clearly has not done that, and I am highly surprised that something has not been done about him already.

Here's a rundown of the guy's history, which began before any allegations of the crack tape.

As far as this crazy series of events is concerned, this guy is corrupt and either needs to resign or be somehow booted out.
