Excellent question....the Amber Room fascinates me.....for something so big to have disappeared so completely, it must have been hidden deliberately, but how?

I did post a reply to this, but it seems to have gone!

I read it was hidden down a mine shaft like a lot of art for protection, but Germany was so heavily bombed and flattened that its location was lost and covered up.

Some future archeologist might stumble upon it one day and wonder why such beauty seemed to have been created before the age of the dinosaurs.
