Hello all,

Please exept my apologies if you have already covered this on here but I thought some of you may be interested in BBC radio 4's reading of 'Born on a blue day' - it is a book by and about a famous asperger savant guy. I found it to be well written and interesting.

The shows are available on the 'listen again' facility I have attempted to link below:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/arts/book_week.shtml

Here is the shows accompanying blurb:

Born on a Blue Day

By Daniel Tannet, read by Paul Panting

Daniel Tammet sees numbers as shapes colour and textures and can perform extraordinary maths in his head. He can also learn to speak a language fluently from scratch in a week.
He has Savant Syndrome, a rare form of Asperger’s.

Producer Jane Marshall.

Hope you enjoy the show and obviously, please leave your comments.

I listened to most of these while as they aired. It's OK but as the show is only about five slots of about 12 minutes each you don't get to hear a whole lot about him. The Book of the Week strand gives a decent overview of a book but doesn't tell the full story. Good if you want to 'try before you buy' though.

Oh, and make sure you watch these soon: from Monday onwards this will be replaced by next week's.
