I mean when you think of all the things that can be tweeted in the universe, a bunch of movies stars being the most tweeted ever?
Celebrity-fetishism is what is really depressing. Why do we have to have so many "celebrity" themed reality shows? Why do people think a celebrity life is so fascinating to create a tv show centered around any celebrity home for 24 hours a day. Don't people realize that this is all contrived and dramatized just because the camera is there? Seriously, the Kardashians, Mark Wahlberg, Ice T, bleh bleh me to death with boredom bonbons.
What is the point of following any famous person on twitter? Twitter raises OCD into a whole different dimension.
It doesn't really bother me that people love celebrities or that that picture was tweated a lot, it bothers me that it shattered records as if it was the most interesting thing EVER. Literally. As I said in my OP, there are so many things in the world that could have shattered records, but that?
Also, even if it had been of movie stats at the Oscars, if it had at least been a picture that was in some way interesting other than for being just a bunch of famous people. If they had been doing something interesting. You couldn't even see half of them, it was a crappy picture.
