India is the World's most populous democracy, and it is industrializing. So it would be surprising if it were not catching up with the USA in political campain spending.

Nothing wrong with that.

This is unofficial/undeclared money. The declared amount would only be a small fraction of the actual spending. It's not like the US where all the spending is official.
